Andreas Mendel

Musician and Instructor

Andreas Mendel studied by Prof. Müller-Brincken (Würzburg) and Prof. Abbühl (Mannheim) and has been principal oboist of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz since 2009. Guest engagements regularly take him to orchestras such as the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg State Opera Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Niederösterreichische Tonkünstler and the Camerata Salzburg. In addition to his work as an orchestral musician, he enjoys playing chamber music (Ketos Quintet) and regularly teaches at courses in Austria and abroad (Oboe Bassoon Festival Kremsmünster / Bläserurlaub Bad Goisern / Musica Intarsia). His exercise books for oboe (“Technical Basics for Oboe: Major / Minor / Junior / Master Edition”), which have since become standard repertoire for oboists, have achieved great international renown.
